Marlo Paul Egdorf

Marlo P. Egdorf, age 88 of Marion, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He died at home surrounded by his family.
Marlo Paul Egdorf was born September 2, 1927 in Freeport, IL to the late Paul & Wilma (Schmidt) Egdorf. He was a 1946 graduate of Marion High School where he was active in basketball, football, and boxing. On July 13, 1957, he married Dorothy Kuschel at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville, and the couple recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. Marlo was employed at Marion Body Works for 46 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed building and flying RC airplanes, playing tennis, golfing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Marlo will be remembered as a kind, gentle, man who was always there for anyone who needed help. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Sisters-in-law: Mildred Kuschel; Judy Olson; Verna Kuschel; Karen (Ralph) Young
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Daniel.
Funeral services will be held 12 PM Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Christian Burg and the Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Interment will take place at St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Larrabee.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, and at the church on Wednesday from 11 AM until the time of the service.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Heartland Hospice team and to all the doctors and nurses who cared for him throughout the years. A special thanks is also extended to the Erik Johnson family, relatives, friends, and to his golf buddies at Perry’s Landing, Marion.
