Wilbur “Willie” W. Wenzel, age 85 of Appleton, formerly of Clintonville, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at Misty Arbor Assisted Living, Appleton.
Wilbur Wallace Wenzel was born July 4, 1932 in the Township of Wescott, Shawano County, son of the late Richard & Bertha (Koehler) Wenzel. After his schooling, Willie started work at Korb Oil, Clintonville where learned the mechanic trade. He also took time to serve his country with the National Guard, and received his basic training at Fort McCoy. He was united in marriage to Ardis M. Reinke on October 28, 1961 at Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville where he was a lifetime member and served as an usher. He later worked for Clintonville Motors, also in Clintonville and was employed there until his retirement. In his retirement, Willie stayed busy mowing lawns on the side and worked part-time for Wal-Mart in New London. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting sports and loved to share these pastimes with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed going for walks and spent time at the Clintonville Recreation Center. Willie will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and a hard-working, kind, and caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Great-granddaughter: Elena Wenzel
Willie was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife Ardis; a sister, Shirley Robley; & a brother, Ulysses Wenzel.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville with the Rev. Benjamin Hollingsead officiating. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post #664, American Legion Post #63, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63, all of Clintonville.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the local Alzheimer’s Association, 3313 Packerland Dr. De Pere, WI 54115; or Misty Arbor Assisted Living, 333 Misty Ln. Appleton, WI 54914.
