Carol A. (Hintz) Hoolsema

Carol A. Hoolsema, age 69 of Marion, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, January 18, 2015 at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville.

Carol was born on January 17, 1946 in Antigo.  She was the youngest of twelve siblings born to Otto and Sarah (Kieper) Hintz, and the only one of the twelve to be born in the hospital.  Carol was a homemaker and a home health worker.  She raised her eldest granddaughter and was a very talented cook and baker.  Carol enjoyed visiting with family, playing card games, crocheting, and watching figure skating.  She loved angels and the Green Bay Packers.  Carol adored her grandchildren and spent countless hours playing with them, helping them do homework, and making special treats.  She enjoyed being outdoors and driving around on back roads. 

Survivors include: 

2 Sisters:  Arlene (Larry) Somann & Joan Heistad, all of Antigo.

2 Children:  Christine Steeno, Stevens Point & Shawn Anderson, Iola.

4 Grandchildren:  Angela (Willis) Buss, Marion; Aaron & Jaqueline Anderson, Antigo; and Ashley Upthegrove, Amherst.

4 Great-Grandchildren:  Gavin & Cameron Buss and R.J. & Katrina Upthegrove.

Carol is further survived by a niece; Lori Krueger and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Elaine (Arnold) Baker, Jeanette (Clarence) Allen, Grace (Jerry) Franklin, & Eleanor Ortlieb, and brothers; Ervin, Wally, Rueben, Allen, & James.

A memorial service for Carol will be held in June at the Hintz Family Reunion in Pella. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Marion is assisting her family with the arrangements.  www.eberhardtstevenson.com.
