I am so saddened to hear of Howard's passing. I knew him for a short time, but I have never met someone so sweet and loving. He always praised God for everything he had and the quote "I am so thankful and so greatful for everything" when he was sick will stick with me forever as it was truly inspiring. I am praying for all of his family members during this tough time.

One of my best memories of Uncle Howard was when he and Aunt Carol visited during the summer when I was a kid. He gave me a siren to mount to my toy fire truck. It was the coolest gift ever and I loved the light and sound it made as I pedaled my fire truck around the neighborhood.

Uncle Howard was a very kind and gentle man. He will be greatly missed.

I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to you. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are never alone. Turn to the Holy Scriptures for guidance and to help soothe your heart. Psalms 34:18 assures us that God is near to those broken at heart and crushed in spirit. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

My condolences to you Shirley, Jerry and family. I have many wonderful memories of your Dad. Goes way back to when we were kids, then when he was so thoughtful visiting our Dad as he struggled with cancer. When Bill and I visited Clintonville, we always made a stop at your Dad's. Loved him so. One of the most caring man you could ever know!

Dear Shirley, Jerry, Connie, Greg and Christopher-my thoughts and love are with you at this sad time. Your father and grandfather was a very special man. I think other than Clifford Gartmann, Uncle Howard was the kindest person I have ever known. May you find solace and peace in all the happy memories you have of Howard. My best to you and your families.

Uncle Howard had a positive influence on my life. His strong commitment to family and his sincere Christian life were a wonderful example for everyone who know him. I will always remember the time I spent at their cottage where he and Aunt Carol shared with me their love of nature. May he rest in peace after a long life well lived.
