John Songs, Jr, age 65 of Boyceville, Wisconsin died Friday, June 3 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.

John was born March 28, 1951 to John and Jeanette (Dean) Songs Sr in Holy Oak, Massachusetts.  He graduated from Clintonville High School in 1969.   He continued his education at the Fox Valley Vo-Tech where he studied Culinary Arts.  He also attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout and majored in Hospitality Services.  John married Lori Ducklow on June 26, 1982. He worked as a chef, was an Army Recruiter, and worked at Anderson Carpentry in Gillett, Wisconsin.  Due to health issues, he was Medically Retired from the Army.

Survivors include 1 daughter Michelle (Travis) Swenby of Barron; 2 sons: Shane (Melissa) Songs of Colorado; and John Albert Songs III of Washington; 6 grandchildren: Amy, Brandy and Emily Swenby; Arianna Songs and Caitlyn Mitchell; and Mai Songs; Lori Songs of Boyceville; sister Melody (Roger) Schilling of Embarrass, Wisconsin; sister-in-law Ann Songs of Rhode Island; other relatives and friends.

Preceding John in death were his parents; 1 grandson Trevon M. Songs and 1 brother Dean Songs.

Graveside services will be held Friday July 8, 2016 at 10 AM at the Bethesda Cemetery in the Township of Navarino, Shawano County, WI with Rev. Jill Meyer officiating. Military graveside honors will be provided by members of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63, VFW Post #664, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63.  Friends may call at the cemetery on Friday morning just prior to the services at 10 AM.
