Bob will be sorely missed by us. Not only did he serve as a role model for me as a younger teacher, but also he became a benchmark that few teachers could rise above. He truly did love his profession and his students. He was also a great sheephead player and just plain fun to be around. He is in our hearts.

I was so sorry to read of Bob's passing. He will always be remembered as "Mr. Edwards", one of the two best science teachers ever to grace the halls of Clintonville Junior High. He and Mr. Sharp made the class so much fun and I have lots of great memories of my freshman year science class. Coming into a new, much larger school than what I was used to was scary, but he kept everything light in the classroom and made the transition much easier. My sincere condolences to all of you. May God bless you with many happy memories at this most difficult time.

I never had Mr. Edwards as a teacher but I came to know him as I was in Mr. Sharp's science class. The two of them would hang out outside the classrooms or many times Mr. Edwards would be in Mr. Sharp's class. He was a warm and caring man and on my top 5 of favorite teachers. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Very sorry to hear of Mr. Edwards passing. He is remembered very fondly as being one of Clintonville's many great teachers. He is someone I will never forget. He was very kind and a great friend to my mom Elaine Mauel while she battled illness duing her time as a teachers assistant. For that we are eternally grateful. God bless your family...Joe Mauel.

Oh how my heart grieves this evening as I just heard the news of Bob's passing. To say Bob was an incredible mentor for me as I started my teaching career, would be an understatement. He and Jay both did their fair share of playful teasing, but they both always looked out for me as well. I also admired how Bob interacted with students, and how he genuinely loved the act of teaching. No doubt....Heaven just got a good one. Say'Hi' to Sharp for me.
My sincere condolences to you Diane & Matt & Lynette, Katie, and Nick. So so sorry for your loss. I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathies to Diane and family. Don't ever forget that the legacy of Mr Edwards will shine on in many students he has touched; Myself included. Such a great man and a truly wonderful soul. One of the very first "pi club" meetings was held within the walls of the old Clintonvillr Junior High. Pistachio pie, was his favorite, with peach being a close second. I'll never forget those days. My love for science blossomed in his classroom. There are many heavy hearts today. RIP Mr Edwards.

I am a former student of Mr Edwards. I was in his first class at CJHS. He was my favorite teacher in Jr High. He was a great teacher, very patient. I remember him working with me after school to try and get me to understand the workings of a car engine! No such luck and I still don't get it. (lol) He used to let me do the bulletin boards in the classroom too. He said he liked that because they were too dull being empty! I loved to do the artwork. wonderful personality really caring about his students. Some of us were just remembering about him a month or so ago on a closed facebook group called CSHS class of 1967. Clintonville schools and the students there in were fortunate to have him on the faculty for so many years. I was deeply saddened to hear the news of such a loss. My deepest sympathy to his wife, Diane and the family. Please know that he touched the lives and hearts of many many students over the years.

Diane and family,

Bob was one of the main reasons that I learned to love teaching for all the right reasons. Bob and Jay Sharp inspired me to have a relationship with each and every student. I now teach 9th grade Physical Science, and think often about how Bob "loved" his freshman. Over the years, I have said to myself, "what would Edwards and Sharp do" many times as I work with my 9th grade students. God bless all the Edwards family.

I haven't seen or spoken with Mr. Edwards in more than 30 years, yet I cried when I saw that he passed. He literally was a savior to me in junior high. I can't tell you the number of times he kept an awkward and lost girl company and encouraged me during a very lonely and desperate time in my life. He was more than a teacher - he was a friend. I regret never telling him how much of a difference he made in my life, but somehow I think he knows now. My deepest sympathy to all those who loved him.
