Bill and Pat, Karen, and family,
My sincere condolences at the loss of your mother. I just got my Marion Advertiser and saw her obituary, so this is somewhat late. I saw her and Lester in the Marion restaurant sometime in the last few years. I recognized them immediately and we had a nice talk. I remember picking pickles at your farm when I was in high school. Bill and Karen...I remember our years in Pioneer School...the last classes before it closed. I have a picture somewhere of our classes together from that time and wanted to send it to the Marion Advertiser for publication, but have been unable to find it. It showed that any boys sitting on a chair in the front row had big patches on the knees of their jeans. Bill...I also remember how we used to ride our bicycles to each other's farms so we could play baseball together, just the two of us taking turns hitting and pitching with hits and outs determined by where the balls landed. That was way back in the days before video games, iPhones, etc. when we actually played outside and got exercise. Take care and again, my sympathies to you.
